The Law Office of Shaffan Mohamed is a law practice based in Male’, Maldives, providing a broad range of legal services with a focus on civil and commercial matters. The Law Office was founded by Ahmed Shaffan Mohamed.

Shaffan is a commercial lawyer who has a broad commercial practice with an emphasis on disputes involving the conflict of laws, civil procedure, civil fraud, intellectual property rights, and commercial remedies. He has represented clients in various civil disputes, obtaining favourable outcomes, including the first (and so far, only) successful copyright infringement case in the Maldives.

He graduated from King’s College London with a First Class Honours in Law, and won the Frederick Mostert Prize, and the 8 New Square Chambers Prize for achieving the highest mark in Advanced Topics in Intellectual Property Law. Shaffan was awarded the Maldivian President’s Award for special achievement for his academic performance during his undergraduate law studies at King’s College London. He also holds the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) from the University of Oxford; and is currently a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) student at the University of Oxford.

He was called to the Maldivian Bar in January 2019.
